Marseillan is an ancient Mediterranean harbour village steeped in history that has maintained its authentic charm. Located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in the South of France, between Provence and Spain. It is made up of a maze of tiny streets that uncover the history of the area and houses just 4000 permanent residents.

Marseillan is often referred to by its local population as "Paradis sur Terre" (heaven on earth) for its beautiful surroundings, tranquillity and quaint nature. Our villa is ideally situated for exploring all Marseillan has to offer. Just a short walk away, the village is well provided for, having supermarkets, patisseries, butchers, boutiques and banks all on your doorstep. Every Tuesday the centre comes alive when the market is opened – providing fresh produce, arts, crafts and traditional goods.

Marseillan village is close to significant French cultural treasures such as the ancient Roman Pont du Gard, the medieval walled city of Carcassone, and the Canal du Midi. Due to the climate, this area of France is renowned for it wine making. Make time to stop off at the many vineyards to experience wine tasting, and Noilly Prat Liquor is produced in Marseillan village itself (shown left) . This along with the oysters and mussels that are cultivated in it's salt water lake makes this destination a favourite for seafood connoisseurs.

An excellent sandy beach is located just two kilometres away (5 mins drive) at Marseillan Plage. All the beaches along this stretch of the coast are clean, safe and supervised by lifeguards and we recommend you take time to explore and find your favourite spot. For a more cultural experience the Canal de Midi is on your doorstep, this famous canal stretches for 200 kilometres that you can canoe, walk or cycle along it.  If you’re not quite up for that challenge you could enjoy a quiet relaxing spot of fishing instead!
